The 180 Degree rule
The 180 Degree rule is if you have two characters facing one another talking there is an imaginary line running through them (the 180 degree line). when filming you must select one half of the semi circle to film from and once that is chosen you cannot change sides because it would break the willing suspention of disbelief.
